And sometimes they speak the truth

David Ben-Gurion (1886–1973), born David Grün in Płońsk, then part of the Russian Empire and now Poland.

He was one of the leading figures of the Zionist movement and Israel’s first prime minister.

There is a significant historical difference between the early leaders of Israel. Their statements were much more explicit and candid about the conflict with the Palestinian population.

Ben-Gurion, for example, acknowledged on multiple occasions that the Zionists were the aggressors and that the Palestinians were defending their territory.

Their project was the colonization of an inhabited territory, and denying that was absurd.

Years later, this denial became possible through a propaganda industry unprecedented in the Western world.
