A new study finds Israel’s assault on the Gaza Strip killed far more Palestinians than initially reported.
Writing in The Lancet medical journal, researchers found there were over 75,000 violent deaths in the first 16 months of Israel’s assault. That compares to the roughly 49,000 deaths reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry over that same period.
More than half of those killed in the Israeli strikes were women, seniors, or children.
