Friends,
The commander of the Israeli army's Central Command has signed the olive harvest orders for 2026. They bar Palestinians from about 88,300 dunams of their own groves unless they first coordinate entry with the military, up from 68,800 dunams last year, and they hand settlers 3,810 more dunams. Roughly 8,130 of the newly restricted dunams are in the Jenin district, where the Israeli government established 12 outposts over the past year. On October 7, settlers attacked farmers picking olives in the Ramin Plain, east of Tulkarm, and killed Ali al-Bazzari, 44, from Burqa.
So far this year we have recorded 379 home demolition incidents: 1,338 structures destroyed and 1,981 people displaced, 909 of them children.

I also want to ask you to read a journal article by Lara Kilani, a member of our collective. Bethlehem University invited her to publishRecalcitrance and Dignity: Liberatory Imagination in Palestine, which came out September 29 in Women: A Cultural Review. Lara writes about resistance to zionism, the preservation of dignity, and how both work in real life. Drawing on Steven Salaita, she warns against refusal becoming one person's way of keeping their own dignity intact. It has to be nurtured in community so that it works at the level of the collective and the organization.
She also reminds us that "there is something dehumanizing in witnessing, and failing to act against, the crimes to which Palestinians in Gaza have been subjected." That has practical use when we decide how, when and whom to protest, and what to demand.
A paid subscription to The Call pushes this work forward in Palestine. If you would rather give directly, you can donate through our websiteinstead.

Invest in liberation
The Good Shepherd Collective rejects large grants and financing from neoliberal institutions. Our work is premised on grassroots support. Only through individuals such as yourself who are willing to donate $5, $10, or $25 a month can we do this critical work here in Palestine. Will you invest a small amount each month to advance a Palestinian vision of justice and liberation?
