Palestinian-American Louai Abu Ridi, who owns one of just three homes in Qusra, near Nablus in the occupied West Bank, flew back from his adopted home of Ohio on Monday after residents were reportedly trapped inside the area and prevented from receiving food and other supplies for more than a week.
On Tuesday, Abu Ridi raised the Stars and Stripes outside his home and said he has asked the US embassy to continue raising his case.
His decision to fly the American flag has become a powerful statement of determination as he seeks protection and attention from the country he now calls home.
